Cornerstone Hospice Veteran Program Administrator George Wanberg shakes hand with 104-year-old Clermont resident Clifton Fox, a “China Marine” who served during the 1930’s. Wanberg, also a Marine, led a special ceremony to official thank Fox for his service to the nation.
Clermont resident Clifton Fox was honored for his service to the nation. Cornerstone Hospice Veterans Program Administrator George Wanberg arranged the Cornerstone SALUTES! ceremony for the 104-year-old Marine who is the oldest living “China Marine,” part of a battalion that served in China in the 1930’s.
Surrounded by family and friends, Fox received a certificate, a commemorative pin and a heartfelt salute by Wanberg, himself a Marine, as well as three other Marines and an Army captain. The ceremony was held at Mr. Fox’s home.
