On Friday, December 13th, South Lake Animal League and Bill Bryan Subaru picked up approximately 2,000 pounds of pet food and supplies collected for the Stuff the Subaru event. Pet food and supplies were donated from the community and collected at fifteen participating businesses. Donations will go to the ten food pantries that are part of South Lake Animal League’s Nourish the Needy Program and pets awaiting adoption at SLAL’s adoption center. “We can’t thank ASPCA and Bill Bryan Subaru for this opportunity to help ‘Share the Love’ to the animals in our community!” says Doreen Barker, SLAL Board President. “We hope that families that may be facing financial hardship and cannot afford to feed their pet are able to stay together as a result of this collection event. We believe that pets are important family members, and by helping to keep these pets in their homes, we will maintain the human-animal bond that is so important – especially in difficult times.” The Nourish the Needy program operates year-round and if you are interested in being a collection site, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
