Moby…Nothing Fishy About This Boy! He Just Wants To Give Lots Of Love! Moby here…and I’m quite the catch if I do say so myself! I was found as a stray in the Panhandle area of Florida by animal control. I’m not sure where I strayed from, but I hit the jackpot when Houndhaven rescued and brought me to their wonderful group of volunteers. Initially I was a bit reserved because I had a cold, but I quickly recovered with the help of lots of T.L.C. and I showed everyone what an amazing dynamo I am.
As you can see by my photo, I am a stunningly handsome chocolate lab mix. I am two years old, and weigh 55 pounds. I’m a nice compact size, which means I can sort of fit on your lap, or sofa, as well as move easily around your home without knocking everything over like a bull in a china shop. I have a great feature…my belly! If you ask me, any time is a great time for a belly rub! I’m not gonna lie, I have no shame and I will throw myself down anytime, anywhere to request some good belly loving.
I am very friendly and love, love, LOVE people! I also enjoy running around the play yards, love toys, and think splashing around in water is great fun. I know “sit”, walk nice on a leash, and am an all around sweet dog. Has your family been looking for a fun loving, handsome bundle of fun? Well, look no further, because I’m your guy! Please visit www.houndhaven.org to review our adoption policies and procedures, and complete an application.
Ferguson Has Spent One Year at the Shelter. More than one year ago, Ferguson, an Olde English Bulldog mix, came to the Lake County Animal Shelter as a stray and has been there ever since. The date was June 9, 2017, and Ferg, now six years old, remains at the shelter patiently awaiting his furever home.
He’s known to staff and volunteers as sweet, loving and playful, but prefers to not share the spotlight with other dogs or cats and must be an only child – the main reason Ferguson has been difficult to place.
Ferguson is a fan of hot dogs and chicken nuggets, and his perfect day would consist of a rousing game of catch, followed by a little snuggle time. If you’re looking for a dog who enjoys the simpler things in life, such as making sand angels (think snow angels minus the snow) look no further than Fergie.
To meet Ferguson, visit the Lake County Animal Shelter at 28123 County Road 561, Tavares. For more information, visit www.lakecountyfl.gov/lcas or www.facebook.com/LakeCountyAnimalShelter/.
Greyhound Adoptions – Come join us on Saturday, July 7th, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Irish Trails Farm & Pet Supply in Clermont at 102 S. Hwy 27, Clermont, FL 34711 (352) 243-0924 to meet retired racing greyhounds ready for adoption. This beautiful and ancient breed makes an ideal house pet due to their gentle nature. They shed very little and, despite their speed, can be quite calm. In fact, in retirement, they are known as “the 40 mile an hour couch potato”. These are mature, adult dogs and they transition very easily into homes. Most get along great with other dogs and children and many are cat friendly, as well. Get to know these wonderful animals and speak with local greyhound owners. God’s Greyts Greyhound Group 407-578-7496. Find out more at www.godsgreyts.com
