Ever wished you could travel to the Caribbean, but just could not find the time or money to get away? Well, the Caribbean-American Association of Lake County (CAALC) will bring the Caribbean to you in Clermont on June 10th 2017. Their annual “CLERMONT JERK FESTIVAL” is fast becoming the premier festival in Lake County. This multi-cultural event will allow you to experience foods, sights and sounds of the Caribbean. Featuring a Jerk cook-off competition and recently added Domino tournament with cash prizes. Live multi-cultural music and performances ranging from reggae, calypso, steel band, country & western. The evening will culminate with a rousing performance by Hal Anthony & the Millennium Band who rocked the crowds last year. A special Fun Zone for kids featuring the reality TV show “Swamp Brothers”.
This event is hosted by CAALC, a 501(c) (3) organization, and will raise funds for their scholarship program while at the same time fostering camaraderie across cultures.
The event starts at 12 noon and runs until 10pm. The “Parade of Islands” where women are dressed in native costumes of the Caribbean begins at 3pm and the fun continues throughout the day.
Tickets are $7.00 for adults and $3.00 for children 6 to 14 years. Children 5 and under are free.
