Can You Help Jessie?

Posted on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 1:51 am

Jessie, a pregnant 2-year-old dog, came into the Lake County Animal Shelter on Aug. 21 as a stray with the likely father of her pups.
After nearly two weeks with no rescue interest, the shelter is making a plea to the public to take in Jessie so she can give birth in a nursery, rather than in a shelter setting. She simply needs a quiet, cat-free safe space to care for her babies.
“Jessie has always greeted me with kisses and a wagging tail. She is effortlessly awesome,” says shelter staff. “She is a sweet girl who’s growing up and ready to start the next chapter in her life as a mama. Like a lot of us, she just needs a little help to get started.”
To foster this mama-to-be, call 352-343-9688 and ask about Jessie A020926.
To adopt, foster or volunteer, visit the Lake County Animal Shelter at 28123 County Road 561, Tavares, call 352-343-9688 or visit http://www.lakecountyfl.gov/LCAS.
