LSCC Foundation Awards Scholarships

The Lake-Sumter Community College Foundation, Inc. Scholarship Committee received over 400 applications, and was able to award 158 scholarships totaling $117,900 to students attending LSCC for the fall semester. These students are pursuing degrees in a variety of programs, including nursing, criminology, public relations, business administration, education, pre-engineering, law and computer technology.

"We're able to assist so many students in achieving their dream of a college education because of the generous donations that we receive from the community. It is really exciting to be able to provide financial support for our students and faculty and staff through scholarships and projects" says Rosanne Brandeburg, Lake-Sumter Community College Foundation, Inc. Executive Director.

Scholarship applications for the spring semester will be posted the month of October. The deadline to apply will be October 31, 2010. Applications will be available online on the LSCC website, http://www.lscc.edu/foundation/scholarships.aspx.

Lake-Sumter Community College Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization that administers private gifts, bequests and donations to benefit LSCC students. Gifts may be awarded for specific purposes or given without restrictions to the general scholarship fund. The scholarships may be named for the donor or in honor of someone.
