South Lake Rotary Club

Recently, the South Lake Rotary Club applied for and was fortunate enough to be awarded a $3000 grant from the Rotary District for purchasing school supplies for those South Lake families that are struggling during these difficult economic times. The South Lake Rotary worked with the local Office Depot store who assisted in extending the buying power through additional supply donations toward this worthy cause. The $3000 grant actually purchased 10,316 various school supply items to be shared with all of the elementary schools in South Lake County to be distributed to those students in need by the schools. Pictured is a representation of the first round of recipients representing Clermont, Grassy Lake, Groveland, Mascotte Charter, and Sawgrass Bay Elementary schools, along with (from left): Rotarian Ed Pauley, PhD.; Principle Clem Caples, Clermont Elementary; Principle Doreathe Cole, Grassy Lake Elementary; Principle Kimberly Jarvis, Groveland; Principle Wayne Cockcroft, Mascotte Charter Elementary; Pricnciple Julio Valle, Sawgrass Bay Elementary; Rotarian Robert Palmer. This is just one of the many examples that represents the Rotary motto of "Service above Self".
If you would like to learn more about Rotary, please join the South Lake Rotary Club every Tuesday morning at 7:00 am at the Wesley Center in downtown Clermont.
