Florida Native Plant Society Program
Friday, January 27, 2012
Wonderful Wildflowers! will be presented by the Lake Beautyberry chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society. Join us for this free program on Saturday, Feb. 11th, from 10 am to 12 noon, in room 108 at the Cooper Memorial Library, 2525 Oakley Seaver Drive, just off Hancock Road about 1 mile North of SR 50. Adults and older children are welcome to listen and learn.
The FNPS presents programs on native plants, birds, gardening, landscaping, and differing topics on nature for the Central Florida naturalist. This month's program is Wonderful Wildflowers! Plan now for spring in your yard. Learn how to grow and enjoy Florida's very own flowers. Planting native wildflowers adds color, texture, and excitement to any garden palette. On roadsides, they help control erosion, decrease mowing, and add beauty to the drive.
Lisa Roberts, executive director of Florida Wildflower Foundation, will advise us on all aspects of these Florida jewels. A Q&A follows the program and Florida wildflower seeds will be available too. For more information about the Society and their programs, please contact Jon at (407) 448-6195 or Mary at (352) 365-0934, and email at FieldTrip@embarqmail.com.
