South Lake American Cancer Society Relay for Life Campaign

Friday, December 16, 2011

Perhaps someone who is reading this article is a cancer survivor, knows someone who is a cancer survivor, or knows someone who has succumbed to cancer. We know cancer is a life-changing event, in more ways than one.

The American Cancer Society is a nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer through service, research, advocacy, and education. The Relay for Life event represents hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day soon cancer will be eliminated.

This year's Relay for Life campaign culminates on April 27/28, 2012, with a 24-hour run/walk activity at the Groveland South Lake High School track/field. We are reaching out to the South Lake communities--individuals, schools, service organizations, businesses--seeking support for this worthwhile event. We are looking for families, businesses, and various groups and organizations to support the Relay for Life campaign by organizing a team to participate in the 24-hour run/walk activity, by various fund raising means, by individual donations, etc.

There are myriad ways to support the Relay for Life campaign. We know we can count on the South Lake communities to be a strong partner again this year. For more information, please contact Karen Zimmerman @ 407 758 1041 or access the website @ relayforlife.org/southlakefl. Thank you for your involvement and support. Help us Git R Done!
