Free Health Insurance Counseling for Elders

If you or your family members or others have any questions concerning Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D; Medicare Supplement or Advantage Insurance Plans, Part D prescription plans, Medicaid, or medical equipment, SHINE volunteers (under the Florida Department of Elder Affairs) provide free and unbiased individual counseling and are available for individual counseling each 2nd and 4th Wednesday at the Cooper Memorial Library in Clermont (2525 Oakley Seaver Drive). No appointment is necessary. Counseling services are provided in person at counseling sites and via telephone. For additional information about SHINE or for referral to a counselor call the Florida Elder Helpline 1-800-963-5337. Also the www.medicare.gov website has many helpful publications and you can register and view your Medicare eligibility and plan enrollment.
