Dreamplex Volunteer Program for High School Students

The Central Florida Dreamplex is seeking current freshman, sophomore, and junior level high school students for its StarGazers volunteer program.
The Dreamplex is a fitness and recreation center for children and adults with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. A group of 15-20 volunteers will be chosen to be StarGazers, and the program will span one year (January-December, 2020) and result in at least 100 community service hours for each participant.
Trainings will be provided at no cost to the volunteer, and those who complete the program will receive a letter of recommendation from the Executive Director of the Dreamplex. The ideal candidate will be an individual who loves to work with children and has a fun and outgoing personality. This is a perfect opportunity for those interested in therapeutic services, special education, or other related fields as a career choice.
Those chosen to be StarGazers will assist with Dreamplex sports and recreational programs, and will have the opportunity to shadow physical, speech, and occupational therapists.
