How to Start Genealogy

Digging up your Ancestors Beginner Class – 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Cooper Memorial Library Genealogy Room.
Beginner classes in Genealogy are held twice a month at Cooper Memorial Library. These classes are designed to introduce you to the science of genealogy.
* How to gather information you already have
* How to compile that information so it makes sense and organized
* How to start digging for more information
* The different places to continue your research.
It is very important that you come to both classes and that you attend them in order. Bring what you know (family, names, dates and places).
Class 1 for Beginners is held on January 2, February 6, and March 6.
Class 2 for Beginners is held January 16, February 20 and March 20.
These classes are free and open to the public, anyone can come learn we just ask you be there on time. Class starts at 10am (the library opens at 9am come early to get a seat). For more information please find Pastfinders at PastfindersSLC.org or stop by the library.
