Club President, Lion Charlie Neville (front) along with new member, Sefton Stobbs, President elect, Dan Strauss, Secretary L.D. Campbell kick off the Club’s newest fund raiser, brooms for sale made by the blind. Two size brooms will be offered. A heavy duty broom will sell for $18.00 and a lighter house broom for $15.00. Lion Neville pointed out that commercial kitchens in the state of Florida are required to have straw brooms for floor sweeping as synthetics do not adequately pick up typical kitchen bacteria. Health conscious homeowners as well as other businesses should find this feature worth a few extra dollars. 100% of funds raised toward the Lions various vision charities.
The Club meets regularly at IHOP, South US 27 on the second and fourth Thursdays. For more information on the Club, contact President Charlie Neville, (352) 536-6833 or check our web site CLERMONT-MINNEOLA LIONS CLUB.
The Club’s feature fund raiser is the Saturday gun shoots held on their gun range just across from Tractor Supply on SR 50 in Groveland.  The range is open to the public on the second, third and fourth Saturdays, 8am – noon. Third Saturdays are for shotguns, second, and fourth for handguns. The range is shared with a private security company on alternate Sundays.
The Club collects and distributes used eyeglasses. Drop offs can be found at the supermarkets. Community service, along with good company makes being a Lion a most rewarding time – come and check us out.
