Meet Our Pets of the Week

Posted on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 9:40 am

Say Hello to Meadow! If you enjoy an outdoorsy, fun-loving girl, you need to meet Meadow. When she arrived at Houndhaven she did a lot of talking and we had no idea what she was trying to tell us. We finally figured out she was telling us she loves going for walks and collecting as many sticks as possible on her walks…the bigger the better!
Meadow is nine-month old, chocolate lab mix. She weighs 53 pounds, and that’s 53 pounds of love and energy. Meadow loves playing with her new furry friends at Houndhaven. She is smitten with handsome Nigel, and has had a great time playing with every dog she has met. Meadow loves playing with toys as well, and feels they make a fine substitution when she doesn’t have a stick laying around.
Meadow loves attention from all of the volunteers and isn’t afraid to ask for it. She loves to snuggle and gives sweet kisses in appreciation. Meadow knows “sit” and is such a smart girl, she will surely learn plenty more. Meadow would love to have a family of her very own, and wouldn’t mind helping you with yard work, going for long walks, playing fetch, or just spending hours on the sofa snuggling. If this sounds like the girl for you, please visit www.houndhaven.org to review our adoption policies and procedures, and complete an application.

Sweet Sundae! Sundae is an 11 month old male Chihuahua Blend that weighs about 4 pounds. Sundae is a little shy at first, but he would be a great companion for a patient family who is home often in a quieter house where he can settle in and gain his confidence. He does well with other small, low energy dogs. Come meet this little guy and see if he would be a good fit for your family!

Meet Sweet Buddy! Buddy is a very sweet lab/hound mix, around 7-8 years old, gets along well with other dogs, loves all people. This poor boy has gone through many disappointments in his life. Everyone at RTR is giving Buddy plenty of love and TLC. He is truly a sweetheart!
Buddy says “Are you looking for an emotionally secure, mutually satisfying, low maintenance relationship? I am all you need. Let me sit at your feet, walk by your side, and I’ll be your devoted companion forever.” Buddy will be loyal to you to the moon and back. He is looking for a human companion to be his best friend, hold his paw, guide him and love him. If you are looking to make a difference in a dog’s life, you are the person for Buddy. We feel Buddy will do better if he could be in a home environment even if he could have a foster home until he finds his forever family. Please call 352-240-1583 if you would be interested in meeting Buddy.
All of our dogs are neutered/spayed, up-to-date on shots, receive heartworm and flea/tick treatments as well as microchipped.
