Native Plants in Florida

Posted on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 1:43 am

Native plants thrived in Florida for thousands of years without irrigation, fertilizer or pesticides. They even help our birds and butterflies. But how do they actually work in our yards? Native Plants: A Reality Check is an annual round-table discussion by experienced local native gardeners sharing what has and has not been working in their own yards.
Join the Passionflower Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society at 10 AM, November 17th, upstairs, Cooper Memorial Library for this year’s event. The library is just off Hancock Road, about ½ mi. north of Hwy 50. Free and open to the public, older children welcome. We expect to have some native plants on display too! Questions? Email PassionflowerFNPS@gmail.com or call Jim 407-952-1026 or Jon 407-448-6195.
