Tomoka Chapter guest speakers at the October 6, 2017 meeting were representatives of Honor Flight, Dave and Kay Miller from The Villages.
Honor Flight is a nonprofit organization created in 2004 to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. They transport our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to senior veterans of World War II, along with other veterans who may be terminally ill. All veterans are eligible, not just those who have served in a war or conflict. Veterans are transported without cost or expense to them. The guardians and staffs who accompany them pay their own expenses. Call (352) 432-1382 or go to web site www.villageshonorflight.org for full information to obtain the process for a veteran to have the Honor Flight experience. There will also be more information available on Veterans Day, November 11, 2017 at the Clermont waterfront pavilion.
