Visit Florida Teaching Zoo

Florida Teaching Zoo, the only ZAA accredited educational zoo in the tri-county area, has a nearly 20 year history of educating professional zoo animal caregivers. The Teaching Zoo is open from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturdays to the general public. Admission donation is $6 for kids, $7 for seniors, $8 for adults. Reservation line is 866.937.1115. Tours begin at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. with a 25 person limit. The newest information can be found at Facebook.com/thezoochool
The Teaching Zoo animals at our Sumter County facility are both rare and endangered and include Black Jaguars, African Monkeys, South American Monkeys, Roo’s Tigers, Hawaiian Geese, Broad Snout Caiman, Laughing Hyenas, Amherst Pheasants, and many other exotic birds, mammals and reptiles.
